Our Adult Mandarin language classes are held on Saturdays at 9:45 am , 11:00 am , and 1:00 pm in accordance with the Joyous Chinese Cultural Center ’s calendar.
Everyone is invited to participate in our Mandarin Chinese classes for adults. Classes will include a curriculum that is similar to the one our JCCC students are learning, with basic conversational skills and interesting facts about Chinese culture at the forefront of the method. Classes are low-key and fun, provide a great opportunity to pick-up some Chinese vocabulary, and are an enjoyable way to socialize with other parents!
Please do not feel that you need to already know Chinese in order to attend. You are welcome to come regularly, or feel free to drop in whenever your schedule permits. Your first class is on us—no charge—so come give it a try! Classes begin on September 13, 2008 and will close on May 9, 2009.
Tuition is $6 per class.
Adoption Travel Language Class
“It’s so nice to meet you…Where is the bathroom?...You and I both know that it’s only
worth 10RMB, so I’ll give you 20RMB, okay?”
This 14 week class will arm you with all the crucial skills needed to navigate your way through China on your adoption journey. You will learn phrases that will assist you with greetings, shopping, eating, introducing family, getting around China and the hotels, meeting your child and the orphanage staff, and talking with your child about basic needs. The curriculum will not only benefit you in China , but will also serve to support you once your family has returned home. This class and curriculum is also a great resource if you are traveling to China on business, or for pleasure. (Minimum Enrollment 10 students)
